You've got some good answers, and well, one REALLY bad answer (Sorry, Sarge).

Your best bet is probably CorelDraw, or PhotoPaint. They're MUCH cheaper than the Adobe Creative Suite, and do about the same thing.

I suggest that you get really confident with doing your anime electronically, and take a class on Adobe Creative Suite to see if it would be worth the $800 MINIMUM investment for you.

Basically, Adobe Creative Suite is the exotic sports car of design - it does what it's supposed to do VERY well, and not for amateurs!

Free Twitter Buttons

Are you talking about getting Adobe Creative Suite 2 with Illustrator,
Photoshop & InDesign? They are pretty costly investments & you would have to be sure that you would be able to get a return from your work. You would need to have fairly extensive training in order to be able to use them fully. If you are serious about getting into high end digital work, they are industry standard. I wouldn't recommend them though if you are just getting started or haven't learned any of them in hs or college.

Web Hosting

Hmmm.. Well I might tend to disagree. I use Adobe 6 all the time at work. It basically creates .pdf files which are images of the original document, spreadsheet, whatever. You can collate many documents together using Adobe.... AND anybody can download the reader so I use it to send attachments to emails where the folks may or may not have Word or Excel or PowerPoint.

The Jerk that answered this question said he/she didn't know anything about Adobe, but is was useless.. What a piece of Crap!
