The best graphic design software?

Adobe Software
I would mainly use it to make flyers, posters, and banners, maybe a logo or two. So the $1000 Adobe software is unecessary. Can you please give me your top picks that are also affordable??

You could get Photoshop Elements for only about $140. That is my recommendation. Of course if you needed to buy a scanner or some other graphics device (like a WACOM) tablet they often bundle PS Elements with it for free.
My only caution is you mention making logos. If you plan on doing this using the vector tools you probably need something more powerful than Elements. But for basic photo manipulation and layout it would be fine.

If you want a free one, you can pick GIMP, because they are free. You need to learn how to use it and follow some tutorial in the internet, then you can make a good design with GIMP. Though, Adobe is my top pick.
There are some graphic design software, like CorelDraw.

Hello.
It is true that Adobe Photoshop CS3 is one of the best, if not the best, photo design software in the market. However, it costs about $650. It is not THAT expensive, I mean you can use it for a lifetime and if a new version comes out every 2-3 years, you pay about $150 more to upgrade.
However, if you want to go into freeware, I suggest that you try out Paint.NET. It is a great alternative if you know how to use it. Just go on help and check the online tutorials. You can do amazing things with that.
Also, there is GIMP which is also great but at first it can be VERY annoying. I remember when I first used it I wanted to kill it :p But after I expiriment a little, you get to know it and it’s great!
Personally, if you wanna do something professional and take what you will do as a long-time job, then you should really check Adobe Photoshop. It costs but it really is worth it.
If you want to do a small and simpler project which is just one project on its own and not one of many to follow, then there is completely no reason in wasting your money for a software that you’ll once only for once.
So, I hope I helped!
Best of luck!
