What are some good video editing software for begginers?

Adobe Software

I want to make a football highlight film. I have some experience with Movie Maker and I have tried Adobe Encore. Encore was frustrating or just to advanced. Movie Maker just didn’t have enough or I didn’t know how to use it to it’s full potential. I want to be able to use mp3’s and some special effects. Also I have a digital camcorder that records straight to DVD so I need something compatible or something to convert it. Anyone have any suggestions on this? Thanks.

Well final cut is the best cause its indistry standard used to make movies like day after tommorow and such its also super easy. but sense your probably a windows user the adobe encore is the best but like you said its horrible

Final cut is also Mac only so that isn’t super useful to you per say.

Adobe Premiere Elements is an extremely powerful editing program, designed to be used by amateur editors. I would recomend using that. There is definitely a learning curve but it will work for what you want to use it for, and is probably the best software for someone that is going to be doing other projects like this one in the future.

As far as getting the video into your computer, if your camera has a firewire port that should allow you to download it into your computer. If it doesn’t then you are going to need some type of DVD ripper, that is a question for someone else to answer.

    Hope that helps,
    Tony
