She used a typewriter apparently. She said every time she made a mistake she’d have to retype the entire page. She also hand wrote a lot.
But probably microsoft word… the same thing everyone uses really.

J.K. Rowling handwrote the Harry Potter books, much of which were in a cafe that turned into a Chinese buffet and is now up for sale again. The font in the Harry books I’d think is a simple ‘Times New Roman’, but that is up to the publisher, not Rowling.
