When I go to install Adobe Photoshop CS4 the Setup.exe hangs, any solution?

Adobe Software
I double-click the Setup.exe, the process will start and get to around 20,000 K in the Windows Task Manager processes screen and it will just sit at that with no movement. It will not move at all and was tested overnight. I have tried to use Regcure (was using it before this happened). I have tried running it as Administrator seeing as I always run as administrator. When I try to change the compatibility mode it says that I must run Service Pack 2 or higher, I have service pack 3 and it still gives me this message. So does anyone have any other ideas? Any solution to this problem would be helpful and I’ve never had this problem with any other software. It used to hang on the setup.exe for uninstalling Other Adobe software also but this was an easier solution, I simply deleted it and completely removed the traces but I want to INSTALL CS4 software…Thanks in advance for any answers.
I currently use a Portable version of Photoshop CS4, so it is not the memory, plus this is only the install not the running of the program itself. Also Sometimes when I go to run different installs of the Setup.exe I sometimes get an Unhandled Exception but with the installs that get past this point it just hangs…Maybe that will help resolve this further. I’m not new to computers so as far as my knowledge goes this won’t be an easy solve unless you’ve had this problem in the past and know of a fix.

CS4 requires a good deal of memory. Try adding memory to your computer and see how it goes. If that isn’t the case, uninstall any previous versions of Adobe software and then try installing the CS4.
Edit: Okay then, have you tried uninstalling previous versions of any other Adobe software on your computer first? I suggest you do that, and then if you still can’t get it, get all Windows updates, and do a chkdsk on your hard drive by right-clicking your hard drive in “my computer” and selecting tools, then scan disk for errors. Make sure you check both boxes and reboot. Obviously you probably have already done a complete virus scan, malware scan, and spyware scan and made sure you have removed all such traces?
