Adobe Software
I have Firefox 2 (I didn’t like 3 when I tried it) and Adobe Reader 6.0. I don’t like to open PDF files because they slow down my computer a lot since I’m only running Windows 2000. But sometimes, I’m just surfing the internet, and Reader pops up and slows things down.

How can I stop this from happening? Alternatively, can I just get rid of Reader without messing up other Adobe software I have, such as PhotoShop?

You can disable the Adobe Reader in Firefox add-on. I am not running Firefox now but you have to find it under An options and disable that add-on.

IMO, you be better off removing Adobe Reader completely and installing Fox It Reader instead. Runs faster than Adobe. You can downloaded it below.
